Mossman Park

Since we bought our beautiful stallion Justa Shameless Beggar in May 2008, I have met some of the most wonderful people who I have become great friends with. Two of these wonderful people are Caroline Grigor and
Kyla Fay.

Caroline and Kyla both have progeny by our stallion, and through their foals 'Sonny' and 'Twister', I have become very good friends with these two remarkable women. There's not a day goes by that we don't email or talk on the phone.

On the 19th of February 2009, I flew up to Byron Bay to meet my friends 'in the flesh' and stayed with Caroline and her husband Kyle and their family at the McGrigor Mansion.

Caroline and Kyla live on the same street and are great friends, so it was fantastic to be with the both of them at the same time.

I have always had a dream of riding a horse on the beach, but have never been able to actually live that dream
- until today.

We floated Kyla's paint mare 'Belle' and Caroline's paint mare 'Summer' to Lennox Head Beach and had a truly wonderful experience. Their two mares are just lovely and so quiet, and so accepting of the beach and the surf.

Not only did I get to ride on the beach, I also went INTO the surf on Belle.

I will remember my short visit to Byron Bay and riding on the beach on these two wonderful mares as one of the greatest experiences of my life.

This photo is very funny, because this huge wave came and broke just before Andy & Belle. Andy jumps over the wave, and Belle follows and does exactly the same thing. Look in the water at where Belle's front legs are. She's completely off the ground.
